The best AI micro drama tools, compared
The best AI micro drama tool depends on how you want to work. Pick agent-media to make a whole series from inside Claude, ChatGPT or Codex with the same cast in every episode. Pick Picsart for long seasons of 60 to 90 second episodes, invideo for a production team that edits in Premiere Pro, OpenArt to adapt a script or a novel chapter, Dreamina to direct single clips with Seedance, Higgsfield for a large studio of models and tools, and Mootion for longer animated stories.
The tools
1. agent-media
Best for: A whole series from your AI chat, with a cast that never changes
agent-media is ours, so read this entry with that in mind. It runs the whole series from a conversation in Claude, ChatGPT or Codex: an interview, three pitches if you want them, a season plan, then two leads cast once with a fixed face and voice, plus up to six friends or rivals and up to eight locations. Every script comes with its price in video seconds before anything is filmed, and after each episode it remembers who knows which secret.
- Episodes: 9:16, 15 to 60 seconds, 480p or 720p, captions, no watermark
- Plans: $49, $149 or $499 a month in video seconds; no free trial
2. Picsart AI Microdrama Generator
Best for: Long seasons of 60 to 90 second episodes inside Picsart
Picsart calls its microdrama agent Saga, "an AI Microdrama Generator and Showrunner in one". It plans the season arc, locks faces and voices, and storyboards each scene for your approval before it creates the episodes one at a time. Picsart says each episode runs 60 to 90 seconds in portrait, in seasons of 20, 40 or 80, and you can test the first three episodes of several concepts first.
- Generator shows Seedance 2.5 at 1080p; credits shown before generation
- Pricing page: Pro $15 a month or $10.50 billed yearly; Ultra $75 or $60 billed yearly, per seat
3. Dreamina (CapCut)
Best for: Directing single scenes with Seedance, with free daily credits
Dreamina, from CapCut, has an AI short drama generator page "powered by Seedance 2.0". The workflow is scene by scene: upload character references, describe the scene, pick the model, ratio and length, generate, then upscale, add a soundtrack and download. Multiframes takes up to 10 images to keep a character consistent, and Seedance 2.5 supports continuous scenes of up to 30 seconds.
- Daily free credits; paid plans remove the Dreamina watermark from downloads
4. invideo
Best for: Production teams that finish in Premiere Pro
invideo pitches "a crew of creative agents that turns your idea, script, or show bible into a finished microdrama season". You approve a season plan, lock character sheets and recurring locations, and every shot is checked against those locks. Several agents can work in parallel, and approved takes go into Premiere Pro through a direct integration.
- Pricing page: Starter $20 a month or $10 billed yearly (400 credits per seat), Plus and Max above it
5. OpenArt
Best for: Adapting a script or a novel chapter into a vertical drama
OpenArt's AI drama generator "turns a story, a script, or a novel chapter into a vertical short drama". You lock the leads from a reference image or the Characters library, pick genre and episode length, and its assistant Ori can choose settings for you. Episodes come with dialogue or voiceover, lip sync and captions, and you give notes by talking before you export.
- OpenArt MCP generates images and videos from ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and Kimi
6. Higgsfield
Best for: A large studio of models and tools for hands-on filmmakers
Higgsfield is a broad creative platform. Cinema Studio 3.0 takes up to 9 reference images of characters and locations and says "character identity is now locked across every frame", with native audio. Popcorn makes storyboards of up to 8 consistent frames, and its MicroDrama Studio app is described as a way to "write, cast and shoot vertical micro-drama mini series". Higgsfield MCP brings its tools into Claude and other MCP agents.
- Individual plans: Free (no credits), Starter $15, Plus $49, Ultra $129 a month
7. Mootion
Best for: Longer animated and stylised stories
Mootion builds a video from character and scene references with storyboard and shot controls. Director Mode runs from 30 seconds to 10 minutes, and its examples range from cinematic scenes to anime and 3D animated stories. It suits one longer piece in a chosen style more than a weekly vertical series.
- No free plan; Standard is $15 a month, with up to 8 characters in its library
How we compared them
We read each tool's own product and pricing pages on Oct 28, 2026, and used only what they say there. We did not rate video quality: it changes with every model update, and the tools share many of the same models. Instead we looked at what decides the work you will do: where you make it, whether the cast stays the same between episodes, how long an episode is, what you approve before you pay, and how pricing is counted.
One more note: we make agent-media. We have tried to describe every other tool the way its makers do, and the sources are listed at the bottom so you can check.
Which one should you pick?
Start with how you like to work, then check the format you need.

- You have a script or a book chapter to adapt: OpenArt.
- You want to direct each shot yourself and try it on free credits: Dreamina.
- You want many models and tools in one subscription: Higgsfield.
- You want one longer animated story in a set style: Mootion.
What matters in a micro drama tool
A micro drama lives or dies on two things: the same faces every episode, and a reason to watch the next one. Most AI video can make one good clip. The hard part is episode 7 looking like episode 1, and each episode ending on a question. Look for a tool that fixes the cast before filming and plans the season before the first episode, not one that makes every clip from zero.
Then look at the money. Some tools count credits that vary by model, length and resolution; agent-media counts video seconds. Either works, as long as you see the price before each episode is made. agent-media plans are monthly: $49 for 300 seconds of video at 480p or 150 at 720p, $149 for 900 or 450, and $499 for 3,600 or 1,800. There is no free trial; if you have not filmed an episode within 7 days, your first payment is refunded.
What a finished episode looks like
This is episode 1 of The Second Key, a revenge series made with agent-media: two leads, one office, five lines, and a last line that makes you want episode 2. The same two leads carry all ten episodes.
