Revenge drama template
A revenge drama works in 30 seconds because the whole genre is one move: someone is humiliated, then they take the power back. Open on the humiliation, flip the status once per episode, and end on the next threat. Below is a prompt you can paste into Claude, ChatGPT or Codex, a sample three-episode arc, the cast to ask for and a revenge episode from our shelf to watch first.
Why revenge fits a short episode
Revenge needs no explanation. The viewer sees one person treated badly in the first line and wants the score settled, so the story can start at full speed. Every episode then gives a small taste of payback and withholds the rest, which is exactly what makes someone tap the next one.
The shape inside each episode is pressure, a brief withholding, then the status flips. Our playbook calls it the satisfaction loop. In a 25-second episode it is three or four scenes: the insult, the push back, the turn, and a line that shows the fight is not over.
The beats every episode needs
Check each script against these before you approve it.
- The first line carries the insult or the stake: fired, thrown out, cut from the will.
- The wronged lead never begs. They answer short.
- One turn, past the halfway mark, where power changes hands.
- The last line is a threat or a reveal, six words or fewer.
- Wardrobe tracks the rise: the outfit can change per episode as the lead gains ground.
The prompt to type
Paste this into Claude, ChatGPT or Codex once agent-media is connected. Change the premise to yours and keep “Interview me first”: the interview is free, and it fills in the rest.
“Using agent-media, make me a 10-episode revenge short drama: a housekeeper thrown out on the day of the funeral comes back as the owner of the house. Interview me first.”

A sample three-episode arc
This is the opening of the season the prompt above could lead to. Episode 3 is the strongest of the three, because on agent-media the first three episodes are free to watch and episode 4 is where viewers decide.
- Episode 1, Thrown Out. Opens on the heir: “Leave the keys. You're done here.” Rosa leaves without a word. Turn: the family lawyer reads the will at the door. Last line: “The house goes to Rosa.” A partial reveal.
- Episode 2, The Clause. Rosa takes the master bedroom, a small win. Then the lawyer adds the clause: the family may stay thirty days. Last line, from the heir: “Thirty days to make you leave.” A ticking clock.
- Episode 3, The Witness. The heir finds Rosa's signature on the will as a witness and calls it forgery. The police are at the door. Last line: “Officer, ask her who wrote it.” An intrusion, and the highest stakes so far.
Cast suggestions
Ask for two leads and two or three recurring characters. Every character is an original fictional adult, created once and kept for the whole season.
- Lead A, the wronged one: 30s, plain work clothes in episode 1, a sharper outfit by episode 3. Wants the house and an apology. Secret: she knew about the will.
- Lead B, the heir: 30s, expensive and careless, a signet ring as his signature prop. Wants the house back without losing face.
- The lawyer: 50s, neutral, the only one who knows the whole will.
- The sister: the heir's ally who starts to switch sides around the midpoint.
Variations to try
The same engine runs on other premises:
- A fired assistant comes back as the buyer of the company.
- A bride left at the altar becomes the groom's new landlord.
- An intern takes the chair at the board meeting, as in Boss Lady.
Mistakes to avoid
Revenge drama goes flat in a few predictable ways:
- Winning too early. If the lead has everything by episode 3, there is no season left. Give a small win, then take something back.
- A villain with no reason. The heir should believe he is right; that is what makes the fall land.
- Explaining the plan. Show the next move on the episode's one prop, and let the viewer work it out.
Watch a revenge drama we made
Boss Lady, episode 1: an unpaid intern takes the head seat, and the clock starts in the last line. It is one of the revenge shows on our shelf, with The Second Key.

With what authority?

Their shareholder proxies. A majority.

Those proxies expire at six.
Questions
How many episodes should a revenge drama have?
Ten is a good first season: enough for a midpoint reveal, an all-is-lost moment around episode 7 or 8, and a finale that pays the revenge in full.
Can the revenge be dark?
Up to a point. The heat level is PG or PG-13, so the payback is about power, money and reputation, not violence.
What does a ten-episode revenge season cost?
Ten 30-second episodes use 300 seconds at 480p, which is the $49 plan for a month. Our own revenge episodes run about 21 to 28 seconds.
Can the wronged lead be a man?
Yes. Any two adult leads work. Say who they are in the first message or in the interview, and the story will follow.
