Make a hidden identity short drama
A hidden identity short drama runs on one secret: everyone thinks they know who the lead is, and nobody does. Each episode someone gets one step closer to the truth, and the lead has to stay one step ahead. Below: a prompt to paste into Claude, the beats of a ten-episode season, a sample three-episode arc, fictional AI actors to cast and The Body Double, a secret identity drama we made.
Why hidden identity fits a short episode
The viewer knows the secret and the other characters do not. That gap is the engine: every ordinary line becomes a near miss, and a 25-second episode can hold one of them. A thank you, a signature or the way someone stands is enough to give a person away.
The trope also comes with its payoff built in. The unmasking is promised from episode 1, so the season has a destination, and every episode can move one character closer to it: the one who suspects, the one who finds proof, the one who uses it.
The beats every episode needs
Use these as a checklist for each script.
- The first line shows the disguise working: the lead is called by the wrong name, or by the right one at the wrong moment.
- One near miss per episode, on a small physical detail: a ring, a handwriting, a habit.
- The circle of people who know keeps growing, one person every few episodes.
- The last line is a partial reveal or an intrusion, never the whole truth.
- The lead never explains the plan out loud. Show it on the episode's one prop.
The prompt to type
Paste this into Claude once agent-media is connected. Keep “Interview me first”: Claude asks who the lead really is, who she is hiding from and how the truth should come out, and you approve the season plan, the cast and each episode's script and price before anything is filmed.
“Using agent-media, make me a 10-episode hidden identity short drama: a divorced wife the family threw out is secretly the heiress who just bought their company. Interview me first.”

The season, and a sample three-episode arc
The season shape: episode 1 is the disguise. Episodes 2 to 4 are near misses. In episodes 5 to 7 someone finds out. Episodes 8 and 9 turn that knowledge into blackmail, and episode 10 is the unmasking, in front of the people who threw her out.
The opening of that season, with the tension rising to episode 3:
- Episode 1, The New Owner. Opens on her former mother-in-law at the company door: “Deliveries go round the back.” Leah carries the box in anyway. Turn: the receptionist hands her the keys to the top floor. Last line, from the receptionist: “Welcome back, Ms. Vale.” A reversal setup: the family's win is about to end.
- Episode 2, The Meeting. The new owner is due at ten, and the family waits in the boardroom. Leah sends her assistant in her place, a small win. Turn: her ex-husband recognizes the assistant's pen as the one he gave Leah. Last line: “Where did you get that?” A partial reveal.
- Episode 3, The Sister. His sister finds Leah's signature on the purchase papers and says nothing to the family. Last line, to Leah alone: “Tell them by Friday, or I will.” A ticking clock, and the highest stakes so far.
Cast it
Two leads and two or three recurring characters. Every actor on agent-media is fictional and made with AI: an original adult, created once and kept for the whole season. These roster profiles fit the roles.
- Lead A, the hidden heiress: late 20s, plain clothes in episode 1 and still plain after she owns the building. Aaliyah Monroe, whose profile is an heiress, fits. Wants the family to see her. Secret: she bought the company before the divorce was final.
- Lead B, the ex-husband: 30s, polished, the only one who still looks at her twice. Wants the company saved. Wound: he signed the divorce without reading it.
- The sister-in-law: the first to find out, and the first to use it. Ruby Sinclair, a con artist on our roster, plays a schemer well.
- The look-alike, for a twist: a twin who takes her place for one episode. Serena Laurent's profile is a twin who swapped places with her sister.
Variations to try
The same engine runs on other secrets:
- A waitress paid to stand in for a missing heiress, as in The Body Double.
- A food courier who is secretly the heir to a shipping company. Ethan Wei's roster profile is exactly that.
- A new nanny who is the family's estranged daughter.
- A cooking show judge who once worked in the contestant's kitchen under another name.
Mistakes to avoid
Hidden identity falls apart when the secret stops costing anything:
- Revealing too soon. One person finding out by episode 3 is enough; the whole room finds out in the finale.
- A disguise nobody would believe. Keep it small: a different name, a uniform, a job. The viewer should believe the others could miss it.
- A lead with no reason to hide. Give the secret a cost: the job, the deal or the person.
Watch a secret identity drama we made
The Body Double, episode 1: Mara, a waitress, is paid to play the heiress Elena for one week, and Elena's fiancé Nico notices that Elena never says thank you. One ordinary line gives her away. Ten episodes, the same two leads in every one.
- NICO
Elena never says thank you.
- MARA
Maybe you finally earned one.
- NICO
And she never stands like staff.
- MARA
Maybe you should look at me.
- NICO
Then tell me who I’m marrying.
Questions
What is a hidden identity short drama?
A short vertical drama where the lead hides who they really are, often an heir, an owner or a stand-in, and each episode brings someone closer to finding out. It is one of the most common engines in the format.
How do I make a hidden identity short drama with AI?
Connect agent-media to Claude, paste the prompt on this page and let Claude interview you. It writes the season, casts two leads and up to six friends or rivals, and builds up to eight locations. You approve the plan, the cast and each script and price before filming. Episode 1 of your own show is $1. A 10-episode micro drama is $49 one-time.
Can the one in disguise be a man?
Yes. Any two adult leads work, and the secret heir is a man in many versions. Say who your lead is in the first message or in the interview.
How long are the episodes?
Between 15 and 60 seconds, vertical 9:16, at 480p or 720p, with captions burned in and no watermark. The $49 micro drama is ten 30-second episodes at 480p, Episode 1 included.
Hide the heiress. We film the near misses.
